He is married to Kathy May Fritz. Guy Fritz became an expert in developing and coaching young champions after retiring.

One of his proteges, Taylor Fritz, just won the 2022 Eastbourne International championship. He also developed tennis players like CoCo Vandeweghe, who is currently ranked as the 20th best player in the world.
